Please read this alongside your score. It sets out what the Home Hardening Score is and, just as importantly, what it is not.
It is an informational self-assessment
Your score is produced entirely from answers you give about your own property. We do not verify them, and the result is only as accurate as the description you provide.
It is not an inspection or a certification
Nobody visits the property. The score is not an inspection, an audit, an appraisal, or a certification, and it does not create any designation or credential for your home.
It does not guarantee any insurance outcome
We do not quote insurance, we do not bind coverage, and we cannot tell you what any measure will do to your premium. A measure on the statutory list may qualify you for a credit from your insurer. Whether it does, and by how much, is a question only your carrier can answer.
It does not predict fire outcomes
No score predicts whether a building will survive a fire. Wildfire behaviour depends on weather, terrain, fuel, and chance, and a high score is not protection.
It is not a substitute for professional evaluation or legal compliance
This assessment does not replace a qualified professional evaluation, and it does not satisfy any legal requirement. In particular it is not an AB 38 disclosure and it is not a PRC 4291 defensible space compliance check. Confirm local requirements with your fire authority and your local building department.
